Another con in Bartow: Located in the historic town of Bartow, Florida at Mosaic Park. Think Comic Convention meets Renaissance fair in central Florida. This is an outdoor event.

It was a good turnout. The only complaint--was the dust! Everything, everything was coated in a layer of dust by the end of the day (outdoor event + drought = dust). We saw a lot of cool cosplayers.

This year's results: I didn't do well financially at this one (and then what little I made I "accidentally" spent on other cool stuff) but it was lots of fun and I made some new contacts. And the cosplay contest? Pure gold, awesome cosplays + fantastic, side-splitting humor = watching it again next year.

This is a fun indoor event that a LOT of people attend. I highly recommend coming if you're interested. If you go, come see my table! Take note, unlike the others, this is NOT a free event. You have to buy tickets.

This year's event was well-attended, but I admit my profit was in the negative: although I sold books, I ended up spending more money than I made, so... yeah, there was some cool stuff there.

The Once Upon a Page, a Bookish Fantasy Ball was so much fun! 

We learned traditional ballroom dances from all eras. Swords fights, Irish dancing, live band, great time.

YA by the Bay was a rollercoaster of a time. Many high highs, along with some fairly low lows. Got to hang out with Bob (you may know him as R.L. Stein). I met many great students with questions for the panels I was on (the subjects of the different panels I was on were AI, social media, and plot twists and cliffhangers). Overall, I declare it a good event.

This indoor family fun event will feature a cosplay/costume contest, comic and Syfy vendors, artist, authors, tabletop gaming such as Dungeons & Dragons, and a SyFy themed car show, food vendors, panel discussions on stage, fun games and other activities. 🛸🦩

It was a nice event, and although the day was hot, we found ways to keep cool. Thank you to Beach House books! Happy Anniversary!

This even featured central Florida authors of all genres at the Community Center in Avon Park. I had a great time, met some new authors, and even more new readers! I look forward to doing it again next year!

This Comic Con I counted as a success! I had so much fun. Honestly: this was my first comic con. Ever. I've wanted to go my whole life, and now I finally have, and I'll be back next year (already signed up to sell and sign books again!)

On 2 November 2024, I participated in the Avon Park Charmed City Odyssey. It was so much fun!  We had over 500 visitors to see the vendors and for the various events. These included a neat bird show, a man in a giant, fuzzy, inflatable Kirby in the costume contest, and a video of Batman taking on Darth Vader, presented by one of the actors. I'll definitely be attending next year's.
